**Charming HB Quimper Stoneware Figure by Berthe Savigny, c.1930**
A delightful and highly collectable polychrome stoneware figure produced by the renowned HB Quimper factory, France, circa 1930. Standing 14cm high, this charming piece was designed by the celebrated Breton artist **Berthe Savigny (1882–1958)**, one of the most distinctive sculptors associated with Quimper pottery.
Born in Quimper into a highly artistic family, Savigny was largely self-taught and developed a unique style characterised by warmth, tenderness, and sensitivity. Despite suffering partial deafness following an accident, she devoted her life to art, creating sculptures, paintings, and designs that captured scenes of everyday life with remarkable charm.
Her collaboration with the HB Quimper factory began in 1926 following the success of her celebrated child figures and dolls. Although the factory later sought an exclusive contract, Savigny retained ownership of her designs while allowing selected model
...s to be produced in series.
This attractive example perfectly reflects her distinctive artistic vision and the enduring appeal of Quimper pottery. Beautifully decorated in traditional polychrome colours, it displays wonderfully and would make an excellent addition to any collection of French faience, Quimper pottery, or early 20th-century decorative art.
**Height:** 14 cm
A charming and increasingly sought-after piece by one of Quimper''s most notable artists.
