The Fancy Fox has dated this piece to the Edwardian era.
A zig-zag fence runs along the lower half, leading to a gate house. To the upper left hand area are two other buildings in the distance from the main scene, and in the centre a pair of exotic pheasants are courting. The edge is decorated with various motifs and the background walls outside of the embossed decoration are pierced with quatrefoils and diamonds. The plain centre is domed. Hallmarked for Birmingham 1903, maker William Aitken.
It measures 11.5cm (4 1/2") by 8.5cm (3 5/16") wide and 2cm (3/4") high and weighs 21g / 0.7ozt.
In excellent condition with no damage, or repair and minimal handling wear.
