Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A vinaigrette is a small container produced primarily from the late eighteenth to the nineteenth century, designed to hold a sponge soaked in scented vinegar or aromatic perfume to mask unpleasant street odours.

Victorian vinaigrettes were commonly crafted using sterling silver or silver-gilt, paired with hand-cut lead glass, coloured bohemian glass, or semi-precious gemstones, featuring intricately pierced internal grilles.

Authentic Victorian examples usually feature hallmark stampings on the interior lid or rim, a gilded interior designed to prevent corrosion from acetic acid, and finely pierced or hand-drilled grilles.

Small silver accessories and glass scent bottles add refined historical texture when displayed inside a glass curiosity cabinet, placed on a tray atop a sideboard, or styled within a bookshelf arrangement.

Glass components should be cleaned using a microfibre cloth dampened with lukewarm soapy water, while silver elements require gentle polishing with a specialist silver cloth, avoiding submersion of delicate hinges.
