This delightful, finely carved Swiss/Black Forest limewood study of a long eared owl is a novelty match holder with a steel striker at its foot.
The quality of the carving is very good, and the owl has very realistic glass eyes.
Its head is hinged at the back and opens to reveal a hollowed interior for storing the matches.
This unusual piece is in excellent original condition.
