A complete George III sterling silver supper dish with domed cover and original lampstand, hallmarked London 1818, maker''s mark W·B, probably William Burwash or possibly William Bateman I, the spirit burner with London hallmarks for 1819.The circular dish with gadrooned border, the domed cover surmounted by an ornate cast foliate-scroll handle, raised on a conforming stand with twin loop handles and four acanthus-capped supports terminating in lion''s paw feet, the cross-stretcher fitted with its detachable sterling silver spirit lamp — a component very often lost from surviving examples.
