Description

Signature Patterns (1910–1930s): Highly decorated classics featuring tube-lined flowers A striking Moorcroft art pottery table lamp, richly decorated in the classic tube‑lined technique for which the factory is renowned. The body displays bold, flowing organic motifs in deep reds, blacks, and turquoise tones—vibrant colours that sit beautifully beneath the glossy glaze. The design has the unmistakable Moorcroft depth and movement, with raised slip lines giving texture and definition.

The lamp is mounted with carved wooden caps to the top and base, which we believe were added later. The lamp has been rewired in a traditional twisted cord and pat tested.

A superb decorative lamp with real presence—perfect for adding colour and craftsmanship to a living room, study, or bedroom. Moorcroft lighting pieces are increasingly sought after, especially those with strong, dramatic palettes like this one.

Moorcroft pottery lighting is characterised by hand-applied tubelined decoration, rich translucent glazes, and botanical or abstract motifs. Originating in Staffordshire, England, in the late nineteenth century, these pieces showcase artisanal hand-craftsmanship.

These lamps consist of a fired earthenware pottery body decorated with liquid clay slip and metallic oxide glazes. They are frequently mounted onto turned carved wooden bases and fitted with brass electrical fittings.
