James Cohen Antique Carpets has dated this 18th Century French Tapestry to the 1750s.
The subject matter is familiar and soothing, layers of green and blue foliage, a pair of birds and various flowering plants in front of a distant background, possibly mountainous and a fair attempt at aerial perspective has been made, where things further away appear lighter in colour. An almost regal border with a gold background and a leafy vine winding around a pole. Freshly lined, conserved and lightly cleaned, ready for your wall.
