1900 - 1920
Description

Antique French Blue Vase Clock Set

~ French - Circa 1900 ~

~~ Excellent condition, fully overhauled ~~

A very decorative clock set. Pottery bodies are blue glazed and decorated with over-glaze gilt stylised flowers in the Art Nouveau style. The pottery is mounted with gilded brass bases and candelabra. To the base of each is an impressed mark De Winter et Fils Brussels.

The dial is enamel on copper, lettered with Art Nouveau style numbers and is decorated with a delicate floral swag. It is complete with original blued steel hands.

The French movement is by Société Clusienne of Cluses near the Swiss border. It is of the good quality and is in excellent clean and running condition having been fully serviced by our clockmaker. Pendulum has been replaced and it runs for 8 days and strikes the hours and halves on a bell. Click the movie below to hear the bell and watch the clock running!

Condition of the pottery is excellent with clean and bright finish and no damage. The over-glaze gilt decoration is lightly worn. Gilded brass mounts are in excellent condition with a bright and clean finish. There is some very minor wear/tarnish to the original gilding. The dial has a light scratch near the left hand winding hole.

We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.
