The underside with printed Maker's Mark of the period, { Godden Mark No. 1183 } depicting an anchor within a cartouche formed of DAVENPORT and STONE CHINA, as used from c. 1805 to 1820 ~ Masons introduced their Patent Ironstone China in 1813, but, according to Geoffrey Godden, { Mason's China and the Ironstone Wares ~ A.C.C. Woodbridge 1980 }, within a few years, descriptions such as "Ironstone China" and "Stone China" were taken up by other rival manufacturers
