Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Convex mirrors gained popularity during the late 18th and early 20th centuries, often called bullseye or fisheye mirrors. Their outward curving glass allowed maximum light distribution across a room before gas and electric lighting became widespread.

Frames from this era were typically constructed from hard woods such as oak, mahogany, or beech, carved by hand or machine, and finished with gilding, lacquer, or polychrome paint treatments.

Authentic pieces from the 1920s display natural age wear on the gilding, hand-finished carving imperfections, original backing boards with oxidation, and slight distortions inherent to historic curved glass manufacturing.

A small convex mirror works exceptionally well as part of a gallery wall, positioned in a narrow hallway to bounce light, or placed above a mantelpiece as an architectural focal point.

Dust the carved frame gently using a soft, dry camel-hair brush to avoid flaking delicate gilding. Clean the glass with a slightly dampened microfibre cloth, ensuring liquid does not seep behind the frame edge.
