Delightful George V Silver Cocktail Purse by the Boots Company, Birmingham 1918

Description

This exquisite solid silver purse was made in Birmingham 1918 by The Boots Pure Drug Company. Of conventional form, both sides with engine turned decorations. The front with a vacant circular reserve. The clasp opening to reveal the original tan leather interior. The interior divided in three compartments. The sides fitted with a chain and suspension ring to allow a lady to hold her purse while holding her cocktail glass.

Hallmarks:

BPDC for The Boots Pure Drug Company.

Birmingham Assay Mark.

Date letter 't' for 1918.

Lion Passant.

Dimensions:

Maximum width: 8cm / 3.2 inches.

Height: 5.5cm / 2.2 inches.

Condition:

Good condition.

Good hinge, snaps shut.

Minor surface wear.
