West persia,kurdistan,circa 1870.

Curious and quite early smaller weaving from the kurds of bijar.

Striking dark blue/black abrashed ground colour with a central medallion with arrow head pointers.

Even low pile,obvious side and end losses with red fabric binders to rear edges.

Nice antique rug for low money.

4 foot 11 inches by 4 foot 1 inches. 150cm X 125cm. At widest points. All wool construction with red wool warps.
