Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A Corinthian column lamp is a decorative table light featuring a stem designed to mirror classical Greek and Roman architecture, complete with fluted shafts and acanthus leaf capitals. These designs gained popularity during the Neoclassical Revival and Victorian eras.

Nineteenth-century silver-plated lamps were crafted by electroplating a thin layer of pure silver over a brass or copper base structure. The architectural components, such as the capital and stepped base, were cast separately and assembled around a central threaded rod.

Authentic period examples often display subtle surface wear where the underlying base metal shows through the silver plating, alongside aged brass bulb fitments. Stamped maker marks or electroplate hallmarks are typically found along the lower rim of the base.

Positioning a Corinthian column lamp on a sideboard, console table, or writing desk introduces clear architectural lines to a room. Combining the metal base with a neutral fabric shade creates balance within contemporary schemes.

Maintain silver-plated surfaces by dusting regularly with a soft cloth and applying dedicated silver polish sparingly to remove oxidisation. Avoid harsh abrasive chemicals or immersion in water to prevent damage to internal wiring and the plated finish.
