Description

This is a beautiful Scottish horn and silver snuff mull. The top which is decorated with a thistle and the name G Booth Trst. Around the top of the mull the inscription reads From the Carpet Weavers of Abdn (Aberdeen) as a testimony of their esteem 1829. I have looked up the name of G Booth and the only information which may fit is George Booth who as a clock and watch maker who frequently held fiduciary roles for local trade and religious guilds in Aberdeen. It is possible that he acted on behalf of the carpet weavers. This may have been a thank you to him.?
