Penderyn Antiques has dated this 18th Century Oak Coffer to the 18th Century.
The front is richly carved with repeating floral motifs, beneath a carved frieze and central lock plate. Raised on stile supports. A good honest example with plenty of character and a pleasing aged patina.

CONDITION REPORT
In good antique condition throughout with some signs of age. There is surface wear in places including age-related marks, knocks and scratches consistent with age. The top shows historic wear and staining. There is evidence of historic woodworm, though this is long gone and has been treated as a precaution. The coffer remains structurally solid and sound and retains its original character.
