Antique Georgian Flame Mahogany Sideboard Server with Gallery Back C.1820

19th century
Description

A fine and elegant antique Georgian flame mahogany sideboard dating from circa 1820, beautifully crafted in richly figured mahogany and displaying the restrained sophistication that defines the finest English furniture of the Georgian period.

Featuring a shaped gallery back above a generous serving surface, the sideboard is fitted with a central bow-front drawer flanked by four further drawers and a pair of cupboard doors below. The drawer fronts and cupboard panels are veneered in particularly attractive flame mahogany, complemented by delicate boxwood stringing and original lion mask brass ring handles.

Raised on slender tapering legs terminating in original brass castors, the piece possesses superb proportions and a light architectural appearance typical of high-quality Georgian cabinetmaking.

Offering both practical storage and exceptional decorative appeal, this sideboard would make an outstanding addition to a dining room, entrance hall, library, or drawing room.
