Antique Victorian Carved Oak Breakfront Bookcase

An attractive Victorian carved oak breakfront bookcase by James Phillips & Sons of Bristol. The bookcase is of open form, with a central projecting section flanked by fixed shelving to either side. It is richly decorated throughout with carved foliate detail to the uprights and a carved frieze running across the top. The bookcase stands on a plinth base and retains the maker's label for James Phillips & Sons Ltd, Union Street, Bristol.

CONDITION REPORT

In good antique condition throughout with some signs of age. There is surface wear in places including age-related marks, scratches and scuffs throughout the piece. Minor knocks and wear to edges commensurate with age and use. The shelves are solid and the bookcase is of sturdy construction.
