Leeds Antiques has dated these Regency Satin Birch Chairs to the Regency era.
The chairs are of elegant and well-considered form, with arched top rails centred by carved palmette motifs and further delicate detailing throughout the back rails and splats.

The frames are particularly well drawn, showing a lightness and balance typical of the period. The turned and tapering front legs show a subtle nod to Gillows-influenced design, while the rear legs are of oval section with a pleasing curved rake, giving both strength and visual refinement.

Constructed in satin birch, a timber widely used in the period to emulate the appearance of satinwood, the chairs display a warm, decorative tone with subtle variation across the frames, consistent with their age and material.

The seats have been recently reupholstered in a neutral fabric which complements the colour of the timber well, allowing the chairs to be used immediately.
A decorative and highly usable set, sitting comfortably between country and more formal Regency taste, making them especially versatile within both traditional and contemporary interiors.
