Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A cut crystal tea caddy is a specialised container crafted from lead crystal and used for storing dry loose tea leaf leaves, often mounted with sterling silver fittings during the 19th and early 20th centuries.

These vessels are typically constructed from hand-cut lead crystal or glass, paired with hallmarked sterling silver or silver-gilt collars, stoppers, and lids to seal in freshness.

Authenticity is verified by checking for official assay office hallmarks stamped into the silver collar or lid, along with the precise geometric weight and refraction characteristic of hand-cut crystal.

An antique caddy can be styled on a sideboard, bar cart, or dining display cabinet alongside silver trays and modern glassware to create a refined accent.

Clean the crystal base using lukewarm water and mild soap, while gently removing tarnish from the silver elements using a soft cotton cloth and dedicated silver polish, taking care not to submerge bonded joints.
