We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Cocktail picks and sticks gained widespread popularity during the Jazz Age and Prohibition era of the 1920s alongside the rise of home cocktail culture. Crafted in solid sterling silver and decorated with colourful enamel motifs, these accessories were created to hold garnishes such as olives and cherries while serving as decorative elements for entertaining.

Antique cocktail picks were typically manufactured from sterling silver or silver plate, often featuring decorative finials made from enamel, moulded glass, or carved synthetic materials like Bakelite. High-end sets featured hand-applied cold enamel or vitreous enamelling on solid silver shafts, housed in fitted velvet or silk-lined presentation boxes.

Authentic British sterling silver cocktail sticks bear full hallmarks, including a makers mark, town mark, assay mark (such as the lion passant for English silver), and a date letter signifying the precise year of manufacture. The presence of detailed enamelling on finials alongside period hallmark dates confirms authenticity.

Silver cocktail sticks can be styled on a bar cart, tray, or sideboard placed alongside vintage glassware and decanters. Displaying them within their original presentation box or stored upright in a small crystal or silver holder provides a functional accent for home entertainment areas.

Clean silver shafts carefully using a soft cloth and dedicated silver polish, avoiding contact with enamelled sections. Submerging enamelled areas in harsh liquid cleaners or hot water should be avoided, as moisture can compromise the enamel or underlying metal over time.
