Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A revolving drum table is a circular pedestal table with a deep frieze containing multiple drawers that rotates 360 degrees on its central column base. Popularised during the late Georgian, Regency, and William IV periods, these tables were designed for use in libraries, drawing rooms, or offices to allow easy access to stored papers.

William IV drum tables were predominantly crafted from solid and veneered mahogany, often featuring gilt-tooled leather inset writing surfaces on top. Interior drawer linings were typically constructed from pine or oak, with cast brass castors and turned wooden handles or brass pulls.

Authentic William IV drum tables dating from circa 1830 to 1837 feature distinct design characteristics, including heavy central turned columns, triform or quadform platform bases, and robust carved feet such as lion paw or scroll feet. The drawer construction usually reveals hand-cut dovetail joints and original lock mechanisms.

A mahogany drum table works well positioned as a focal point in an entryway foyer, as a central study desk, or placed in a modern library room. Pairing the rich wood tones with neutral wall palettes, understated modern seating, and minimalist decorative lighting creates a balanced contrast between historic craftsmanship and contemporary design.

Dust the timber surfaces regularly with a dry microfibre cloth and apply a high-grade beeswax polish annually along the wood grain. To care for the leather top, avoid direct sunlight and clean with a slightly damp cloth, applying a specialist leather conditioner periodically to prevent cracking.
