Antique Faux Bamboo Rocking Chair

Description

An antique faux bamboo rocking chair, dating from the late 19th or early 20th century. Made from stained hardwood, the frame is turned to imitate bamboo and features a tall spindle back, rush seat, and shaped stretchers. A practical and decorative piece with good colour and age-related patina throughout.

CONDITION REPORT

Structurally solid and sound. The frame is sturdy and the rush seat remains structurally secure. There is wear, surface marks, and rubbing consistent with age and use. There is evidence of historic woodworm to the frame, however, this has long gone and been treated as a precaution. Overall, a lovely example.
