Description

A very beautiful Queen Anne Corner Cupboard in remarkable condition retaining the original pierced butterfly hinges and fittings.

having finely painted chinoiserie decoration with birds figures and flowers. It's nice to see the use of red in this example as it really enhances its appearance. All parts are original apart from thin board which has been added to the back over the original back boards for extra support. Japanned furniture was highly sort after in the late 17th and early 18th Century and was amongst the most expensive. Circa 1710
