Description

A fine quality antique French ormolu mounted mahogany side table attributed to the celebrated cabinet maker François Linke, dating from the late 19th or early 20th century. Beautifully crafted in the Louis XV taste, this elegant occasional table features a shaped serpentine top above a concealed drawer and undertier shelf.

The table is richly decorated with finely cast gilt bronze ormolu mounts, including scrolling foliate ornament, shell motifs, and decorative sabots to the feet. The warm mahogany displays excellent colour and figure throughout, while the graceful proportions and sophisticated design reflect the influence of the finest Parisian furniture makers of the period.

A hidden release mechanism beneath the top opens the drawer, demonstrating the quality and attention to detail associated with high-end French cabinetmaking. Ideal as a lamp table, side table, bedside table, or decorative accent piece.
