Large Royal Worcester Loving Cup Worcester Cathedral c.1902
A finely hand-painted Royal Worcester porcelain loving cup, dated 1902 and featuring Worcester Cathedral to one side and a richly painted floral spray with intertwined gilt monogram to the reverse — most likely commemorating the coronation of King Edward VII and Queen Alexandra (the monogram reading “AE”).
Beautifully modelled with twin gilt scroll handles and soft blush ivory ground, the cathedral scene is signed with an artist’s monogram (possibly “CF”), and inscribed “Worcester” lower left. The quality and subject suggest a special commission or presentation piece.
Royal Worcester puce backstamp to the base with dot for 1902.
Condition: Presents well. Minor rubbing to gilding. A few fine radial lines to the outer base (see photos). No chips or restoration. Displays very nicely.
Dimensions:
Height: 15.5 cm
Width (across handles): 22 cm
Diameter at rim: 14 cm
