Staffordshire Pottery Irish Setters and Royal Children, C. 1850.

19th century
Description

pair of Staffordshire pottery figure groups, c. 1850. Well modelled as the Royal Children sat upon recumbent Irish Setters. The children hold black spotted puppies, upon the liver red spotted Setters.

Set upon underglaze cobalt blue serpentine moulded bases, decorated with single gilt lines.

Length – 17.5 cm, 6 7/8”.

Height – 17 cm, 6 3/4”.

Depth – 7 cm, 2 3/4”.

Condition – Typical minor wear to the enamel. No damage. No restoration.
