Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Edwardian bowfront cupboards, dating from the early 20th century, feature a curved convex front design influenced by 18th-century Neoclassical revival styles. They often incorporate lighter proportions, straight lines, and refined classical moulding compared to heavier Victorian counterparts.

Cabinet makers predominantly utilised mahogany, walnut, and satinwood veneers laid over solid oak or pine carcasses. Construction methods featured hand-cut dovetail joints, brass lock mechanisms, and carved detailings such as fluted friezes or ball and claw feet.

Authentic Edwardian pieces usually exhibit turn-of-the-century features such as stamped brass locks, original keyhole escutcheons, hand-planed drawer bases, and subtle Neoclassical carved details like fluted borders or fielded door panels.

Position the piece as a focal entry hall storage unit or dining room side cabinet, pairing its rich mahogany tones against light, neutral wall paint. Contrast the polished timber surface with contemporary glass or ceramic decorative items placed on top.

Dust regularly with a dry microfibre cloth and apply a high-quality beeswax polish once or twice a year following the wood grain. Avoid placement near direct heat sources or in harsh sunlight to prevent timber shrinkage and veneer fading.
