A French Walnut Double Bedstead C1890

A French Walnut double bedstead and dating from around 1890. This beautiful French double bedstead has turned column sides on the headboard which are carve to the top with a finial above. It then has a gallery top rail on bobbin turned supports with a carved pediment to the centre and a large moulded panel underneath. The foot has the same column sides which are also carved to the top with a finial above and the same gallery top rail and a small panel to the centre. Underneath the top are two large moulded and quartered panels with a carved boss to the centre. It has a bobbin turned moulded panel under the head and footboard and it stands on turned feet with original bobbin mounted panelled side rails. It takes a standard double mattress.

Measures: Height to Head Board: 57" x Height to Foot Board: 43.5" x Depth: 80" x Width: 54"
