Salisbury Antiques Centre has dated this Antique Malay Keris Dagger to the 1850s.
The beautifully figured timber crosspiece displays attractive grain and colour, complementing the detailed carving to the handle.
The wavy blade retains a pleasing aged patina and demonstrates the characteristic form associated with traditional Malay and Indonesian kris weapons. Highly regarded throughout Southeast Asia, the kris served not only as a weapon but also as a ceremonial and symbolic object, often carrying cultural and spiritual significance.

Condition:
Presented in good antique condition with age-related wear and patination consistent with age and use. The blade shows oxidation and surface wear commensurate with its age, while the scabbard and hilt remain well preserved.
