Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Victorian woolwork, frequently referred to as Berlin woolwork, became widespread during the nineteenth century for domestic textile art. These pieces commonly depicted animals, floral arrangements, or pastoral scenes worked onto canvas using dyed wool yarns.

Nineteenth-century needlework pictures were crafted using wool thread embroidered onto canvas backings. Framing from this period frequently featured figured timber veneers, such as burr maple or rosewood, combined with gilded inner slip mouldings.

Authentic Victorian needlepoint exhibits characteristic hand-stitched backing threads, natural age-related tonal variation in the dyes, and period-appropriate framing constructed with timber veneers, gilded slips, and hand-cut glass.

Framed antique needlepoint functions well as a focal accent above a console table or integrated into a gallery wall alongside modern line drawings. The figured timber frame introduces warmth and tactile texture to contemporary interior schemes.

Position antique woolwork away from direct sunlight to prevent ultraviolet fading of organic wool dyes. Keep humidity levels stable, and restrict maintenance to light dusting of the glass and wooden frame using a dry microfibre cloth.
