Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Bohemian Art Nouveau glass, produced around the turn of the 20th century, is renowned for its iridescent surface finishes, organic forms, and experimental decorative techniques developed by makers such as Kralik and Loetz.

Iridescent art glass was created by exposing hot blown glass to metallic vapours or spraying it with metal salts, producing a lustrous, light-refracting surface finish.

Authentic Kralik glass frequently features mottled or textured surface effects, vibrant metallic iridescence, smoothed pontil marks, and hand-applied enamel or trailing details, though pieces are rarely signed.

Displaying the vessel on a mantelpiece or window sill allows natural light to highlight its metallic iridescence, creating a focal point among modern decorative objects.

Dust the surface with a soft microfibre cloth and wash gently in lukewarm water with mild liquid soap, avoiding abrasive materials or soaking, which could compromise enamel details.
