Museum Quality Unworn Heavy Solid 9ct Gold Omega Seamaster Box & Papers 1967

1940 - 1960
Description

This is a remarkable Museum quality unrestored and unworn example of the Heavy 9ct solid gold Omega Seamaster on full solid gold bracelet from 1967

The only work we have carried out is to service the movement and give the case a light polish with a soft cloth.

The solid 9ct gold case is 35mm in diameter excluding the original crown, a full size gents.

The case edges are sharp and crisp the watch looks like it was kept hidden away in a drawer and never worn.

The movement is the super reliable Omega calibre 552 automatic winding movement. It has been freshly serviced and is currently running at plus 3 seconds per day , not bad for a 60 year old watch.

It has an 888 serial number which is considered to be very lucky in many cultures

The starburst texture dial is totally original and perfect it has had no restoration whatsoever.

The 9ct gold hallmarks indicate that this watch was made in 1967.

The case was made for Omega by the British company Dennisons who made most of the solid 9ct gold cases used by Omega. Dennison cases tend to be around 25% heavier than the standard Omega watch cases.

The heavy solid 9ct gold bracelet is full length as it left the factory at 20cm long, it can be reduced to fit a smaller wrist size. Its very rare to find one that has never been shortened.

It comes with its original inner and outer boxes

This is the best and most complete example of any 9ct Seamaster on bracelet we have ever seen, the kind of thing you normally only find in the Omega Museum.

You will probably never see another.

A superb investment piece.

We offer a highly personalised and bespoke service.

Archival Detail
Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

During the 1960s, the Omega Seamaster evolved from a utility dive watch into a refined dress watch, featuring slim cases, clean minimalist dials with applied baton markers, and self-winding mechanical movements.

Solid gold models were typically crafted from hallmarked 9ct or 18ct yellow or rose gold, often fitted with acrylic crystals, silvered or champagne dials, and integrated woven or bark-finished gold bracelets.

Authenticity is determined by matching the movement serial number to Omega production dates, checking hallmarking on the inner case back, confirming period-correct dial typography, and verifying the presence of an engraved logo on the crystal and crown.

A mid-century gold dress watch pairs naturally with tailored suiting and formalwear, or can be worn alongside casual knitwear and linen tailoring to add a classic metallic contrast.

Mechanical watches should be serviced by a horologist every three to five years to refresh lubricants. Keep the timepiece stored in a dry, temperature-controlled environment away from magnetic fields and moisture.
