Ritas Bazaar has dated this Sterling Silver Card Tray to the Edwardian era.
The surface is richly decorated in the Rococo Revival taste, with deeply chased scrolling acanthus, shell motifs and floral sprays arranged around a central cartouche. The finely textured ground creates a strong visual contrast with the polished raised decoration, while the crispness of the chasing and border suggest a higher-grade example rather than routine commercial production.
The interior retains a bright silver finish, while the exterior displays a soft, even patina consistent with careful use and age. Equally suitable as a card tray, small serving tray or decorative display piece, it combines practicality with strong decorative appeal.
Robert Pringle & Sons was one of the leading British silver manufacturers of the late Victorian and Edwardian periods, and this tray is a fine example of the firm's quality output at the beginning of the 20th century.
