Robert Belcher Antiques has dated these African Carved Stone Busts to the 1930s.
It is a relatively soft stone which can be cut and carved.

These small well detailed portrait busts were locally produced, circa 1930. They were made as mementoes to be offered for sale to wealthy travellers enjoying the African safari and exploring the local culture.

This eye catching garniture of busts displays nicely together. Two of the figures are signed on the reverse, and all three pieces are in excellent condition with no repair or restoration.
