Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Queen Anne style furniture, originated in the early 18th century, is recognised by its graceful curves, restrained ornamentation, and reliance on fine figure woods like burr walnut. Key defining features include cabriole legs ending in pad feet and delicate quarter-matched veneered surfaces.

Tables from this period typically utilise solid walnut or oak frameworks topped with decorative burr walnut veneers. Construction often incorporates traditional joinery methods such as mortise and tenon joints for the legs and apron framework.

Authentic pieces display natural variations and swirling grain patterns inherent to burr wood growths rather than printed or synthetic repetition. Look for historical wear, natural shrinkage lines along veneer seams, and hand-worked apron underside surfaces.

A low walnut table works effectively positioned in front of a neutral linen sofa or modern tailored armchair. The rich wood tones contrast well with clean-lined contemporary upholstery, adding depth and warmth to living areas.

Dust regularly with a dry, lint-free microfibre cloth and apply a high-quality beeswax polish sparingly along the grain once or twice a year. Keep the item away from direct radiators, air vents, and direct sunlight to prevent veneer lifting or colour fading.
