Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

During the Victorian era, jewellery featuring turquoise and seed pearls carried symbolic meanings, often representing true love and remembrance. Interlocking design motifs like circles or rings frequently symbolised eternal affection and unity.

These brooches were commonly constructed from silver gilt, sterling silver, or low-carat gold. They were set with natural turquoise cabochons and split seed pearls fixed into rub-over or claw settings with a steel or gold pin fastener.

Authentic period pieces typically feature hand-cut gemstone settings, c-clasp fasteners, long pin stems extending past the brooch body, and signs of hand-finishing rather than modern casting lines.

Brooches can be attached to jacket lapels, secured on silk scarves, or worn on the collar of a button-down shirt. They also serve as decorative accents on winter coats, berets, or fabric handbags.

Avoid immersing the brooch in water or exposing it to perfume and hairspray, as turquoise is porous and pearls are sensitive to chemicals. Gently wipe the metal with a soft microfibre polishing cloth to preserve its finish.
