Rare Dr Wall / First Period Worcester Porcelain Pickle Leaf Dish Two Peony Rock Bird Patt. C.1754

A rare early Worcester porcelain leaf shaped pickle tray, very finely potted, and painted in the two-peony rock bird pattern. Workman''s mark to the underside, c.1754-1760.
 
Reference: Worcester Blue & White Porcelain 1751-1790, Branyan, French & Sandon, section I.C.10. The pattern is described as uncommon, and only found on pickle dishes, either of scallop shell shape, and more rarely of this leaf form.
 
It measures 8.7cm (3 3/8'') wide by 10.7cm (4 3/16'') long and 3cm (1 1/8'') high.
 
Condition is excellent. There is a 1mm nick in the glaze to the underside of the rim but no other damage, repair or restoration, and minimal handling wear.
