ANTIQUE #SA1215512

A Pair Of 19th Century Beech And Ash Sussex Chairs, Very Likely Made For Morris & Co.

Status: This item has been sold
Sold by: Jeckyll & Co

An Arts and Crafts classic.

I have in stock, just sold, a Philip Webb, Morris & Co. armchair and the construction and diminensions are pretty much identical to this pair of chairs. The difference here is the bolder turned bobbins which may have been introduced to ''freshen up'' the range. Morris & Co. made and sold the Sussex chair in various forms for around 50 years.

With woven rope seats. Structurally sound and well presented, the reverse of one bobbin chipped to the back, see image.

Reliable transport throughout the UK can be easily arranged at cost price.
