Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Val Saint Lambert was established in Belgium in 1826 and became renowned internationally for high-grade lead crystal. During the Art Deco era of the 1930s, the glassworks specialised in cased crystal, a technique where coloured glass is layered over clear crystal before being geometric-cut by hand.

Ruby overlay crystal is created by dipping clear blown lead crystal into a secondary molten layer of coloured ruby glass. Craftsmen then use grinding wheels to cut precise patterns through the outer coloured casing, revealing the clear glass beneath.

Authentic pieces from this period exhibit high density and resonance due to the high lead content, crisp hand-cut facet edges, and uniform overlay thickness. Many original production pieces feature acid-etched marks, foil labels, or distinct catalogue shape numbers on the base.

Position crystal glass vessels on a dining room sideboard, marble mantelpiece, or deep window sill where direct natural light can filter through the facets. They serve as striking standalone sculptural elements or elevated table centrepieces.

Wash the glass by hand using warm water and a mild dishwashing liquid, avoiding abrasive pads or sudden temperature shifts. Dry immediately with a lint-free microfibre cloth to prevent water spots and preserve the optical brilliance of the cuts.
