Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Regency tripod tables, produced between roughly 1810 and 1830, are characterised by classical proportions, turned central pillars, and three outward-curving swept legs. They often feature dense timber, delicate stringing inlay, and streamlined silhouettes influenced by classical antiquity.

These tables were predominantly constructed from high-grade solid or veneered mahogany imported from the West Indies. Inlay accents often utilised lighter contrasting woods such as boxwood or satinwood to delineate the contours of the legs and tops.

Authentic period examples exhibit hand-turned central columns, hand-cut joinery beneath the top, and natural age-related wear or oxidisation to the underside of the timber. Original brass tilt-top catches or fixed block construction should show historic hand-worked tooling marks.

A matched pair functions as versatile accents when placed symmetrically at either end of a contemporary sofa or positioned beside reading armchairs. Their compact footprint and dark wood finish provide visual contrast against neutral walls and upholstery.

Dust surfaces regularly with a clean, dry microfibre cloth, following the grain of the wood. Preserve the historic finish by applying a small amount of beeswax polish once or twice a year, avoiding placement near direct heat sources or damp environments.
