Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A Baluch bagface is the decorated front panel of a traditional woven saddlebag, known as a khorjin, created by nomadic Baluch tribes near the border regions of Persia and Afghanistan. These utilitarian textiles were hand-woven using pile or flat-weave techniques to store and transport goods before being preserved as collectible decorative art.

Baluch bagfaces are typically hand-knotted using hand-spun sheep wool for both the pile and foundation, occasionally incorporating goat hair or camel wool. They feature asymmetrical knots and natural vegetable dyes producing characteristic deep tones such as madder red, indigo blue, and dark brown.

Authentic pieces generally present a deep, dark colour palette dominated by rust red, navy blue, and natural dark brown tones, accented with geometric iconography. Inspection of the selvedges, soft handle, dense wool knotting, and natural dye variation helps verify authentic nomadic production from the early 20th century.

These small geometric textiles can be mounted and framed as textured wall art or placed flat as decorative display mats on consoles, sideboards, and coffee tables. They are also frequently converted into bespoke accent cushion covers to add historical pattern to modern seating.

Vacuum carefully using suction only, avoiding motorised brush attachments that can snag or wear hand-knotted wool pile. For cleaning, consult a professional textile conservator rather than using harsh household detergents, and display the textile away from direct sunlight to prevent colour fading.
