Ritas Bazaar has dated this Sitzendorf Porcelain Egg Vase to the 19th Century.
Executed in glazed hard-paste porcelain, the vase features a pierced upper rim imitating a cracked eggshell and dense floral decoration in soft green, cream, yellow and blush tones. The sculptural arrangement of the putti around the body gives the composition strong visual presence while retaining the refined decorative elegance characteristic of Sitzendorf production.
The underside bears the blue crossed-lines mark of the Sitzendorf Porcelain Manufactory used between 1884 and 1902, together with the impressed model number 354. During the Voigt ownership period, Sitzendorf became widely admired for richly modelled ornamental wares including cherub groups, lace figures and elaborate floral centrepieces created for fashionable European interiors.
The unusual egg form combined with applied porcelain roses and animated cherub supports makes this an especially attractive Victorian cabinet-size display piece.
