A charming and highly decorative Victorian iron-back nursing chair of elegant proportions, raised on solid hardwood legs with the original ceramic and brass castors.The chair features a beautifully shaped spoon back with an internal iron frame construction, giving it both strength and a refined silhouette characteristic of late 19th century nursing and bedroom chairs. The gently scrolling arms and deep seat create a wonderfully comfortable and inviting form. Recently professionally reupholstered in a soft peach velvet and complemented by panels of Robert Kime “Avebury” fabric to the outer back and sides, the chair combines traditional Victorian form with one of the most recognisable names in English decorative textiles. The warm peach tones work beautifully alongside the intricate woven patterning, creating a layered and characterful country house aesthetic.
