Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Edwardian inkwells from the early 20th century often feature heavy, clear cut-glass or crystal bodies combined with silver or silver-plated lids and mounts. Designs shifted away from dark Victorian ornamentation towards simpler, refined geometric forms and clean lines.

These desk accessories were typically constructed using heavy moulded or hand-cut lead crystal glass paired with sterling silver or silver-plated hallmarked caps, collar mounts, and internal glass reservoir wells.

Authentic pieces feature British silver hallmarks stamped into the rim or top of the lid, indicating the maker, metal purity, assay office, and date letter from between 1901 and 1910. The glass base usually shows age-appropriate friction wear on the underside.

Style an antique inkwell on a modern executive office desk, atop a stack of design books on a console table, or alongside framed artwork on a library bookshelf to add historical texture to the space.

Wipe the glass section gently using a soft microfibre cloth slightly dampened with warm water. Polish the silver lid using a dedicated silver polishing cloth, taking care not to submerge the hinged mechanism or apply harsh chemical cleaners.
