This authentic Daum France "Rose Passion" bowl is a sculptural centerpiece crafted from lead crystal using the traditional pâte de verre technique. The design features a multi-petaled rose in full bloom, with a vibrant color gradient that transitions from a fresh green at the base to a translucent powder pink at the petal tips. The surface exhibits a refined, matte texture with subtle transparency, capturing the organic details of a natural flower.

The bowl measures 18 centimeters in diameter and 6 centimeters in height, with a total weight of 670 grams. Pate de verre is a specialized kiln-casting technique where finely crushed glass paste is packed into a mould and fused at high temperatures. Popularised during the Art Nouveau movement by French glassmakers, it produces distinctive translucency and rich colour blending.

Craftsmen mix powdered crystal glass with binding agents to create a coloured paste, which is carefully placed layer by layer into a lost-wax mould. Firing fuses the particles, after which the mould is destroyed to reveal a unique piece with subtle colour gradations.

Authentic pieces usually feature etched, engraved, or cast maker signatures along the base or rim. Look for weight, fine detail in the relief work, and smooth hand-finished surfaces alongside distinct colour transitions characteristic of high-grade crystal.
