Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Bloor Derby porcelain refers to ceramics produced at the Derby factory between 1811 and 1848 under the management of Robert Bloor. This era is characterised by vibrant enamel colours, rich gilding, ornate borders, and detailed hand-painted floral or heraldic decoration.

These plates were crafted from fine English soft-paste or bone porcelain, featuring hand-burnished gilding and intricate hand-painted enamel illustrations. Artisans applied custom coats of arms or armorial crests to order for prominent families.

Authentic pieces often feature red printed or impressed factory marks containing the name Bloor Derby, alongside heavy gilding and characteristic apple green or dark blue ground colours. The precision of the hand-painted botanical studies and soft translucency of the paste also indicate authenticity.

Display the plate on a dedicated stand upon a wooden sideboard, or group several botanical plates inside a classic display cabinet or wall plaque arrangement. Pairing brightly coloured porcelain with dark wood or modern neutral backdrops highlights its detailed paintwork.

Clean gently by hand using lukewarm water and a mild detergent, avoiding abrasive sponges that could scratch the enamel or wear away the delicate gilding. Never submerge in hot water or place in a modern dishwasher.
