This is an interesting knitting sheath with lots of details
Firstly it is dated 1790 It has initials J + H on the front and on the back H W. There is some pewter inlay to the top, then a scratch carved heart, initials, date 1790, another heart and diamonds. Clearly made with love for someone.
The knitting sheath measures 19cm l.
