Founders Antiques has dated this Ebonised Bonheur Du Jour to the Victorian era.

The trestle supports are crisply detailed with roundels and scrolling ornament, joined by a turned stretcher and raised on original brass and ceramic castors. Compact in scale yet highly decorative, this is a refined occasional desk or writing table, equally at home in a bedroom or living space as it is a study.

Very good antique condition with an attractively aged writing surface and gentle wear to the ebonised finish and gilding. Structurally sound, clean and ready to place.
English, circa 1870.
