Eberhard Hermetic Trench Watch 1920s

Description

A 1920's period Eberhard 'trench' wristwatch. A silver case with a threaded Hermetic waterproof case. Convex bevelled edged glass. A white enamel dial with blued steel Breguet hands and a subsidiary seconds dial. Signed to the dial 'EBERHARD' with Arabic numerals to the chapter ring.

The Hermetic case was an early version of waterproofing a watch. The outer case has a screw down bezel and the inner a hinge to enable the watch to be wound. The case has 925 silver marks and 'Double Boitier Hermetique'. It's in remarkably good condition for it's age.

A Swiss manual wind movement with 15 jewels and signed Eberhard & Co.
