A Splendid Silver Plated Etched Glass Claret Jug depicting wading birds among reeds and waterside plants, creating a gentle scenic band around the body. The engraving is finely done with varied matting and line work that reads clearly when the jug catches the light. The hinged lid is topped with a helmet-shaped finial, adding a distinctive classical accent in the Grand Tour tradition – circa 1870.
